LucidCoat started with a frustration. We’re photographers. We’re engineers. And we couldn’t understand why ceramic coating technology — proven across automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications — had never been properly formulated for camera optics.
The coatings that exist? They’re made for paint. For metal. For windshields. Applying them to precision optical glass would be like putting motor oil in a Swiss watch. The tolerances are completely different.
So we built a coating from scratch. Molecular-level SiO₂ formulation designed specifically for the optical properties of camera glass. Two years of R&D. Hundreds of test lenses. Thousands of lab-controlled before/after images analyzed for resolution, flare, chromatic aberration, and color fidelity.
The result: a ceramic coating that protects like industrial-grade armor and performs like it’s not even there.
Every photographer invests in their glass. Lenses are precision instruments — engineered to capture light with absolute fidelity. They deserve protection that matches their precision.
LucidCoat exists to bridge the gap between industrial ceramic coating technology and the exacting standards of optical engineering. We protect what matters most to photographers — without compromising a single pixel.
